- LINDA MOULTON HOWE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Extraterrestrials Are Likely SOMEONE Else’s Machines
UAMN TV Sep 6, 2018 –
Linda Moulton Howe starts off with Elon Musk’s comments to American governors at a meeting in Rhode Island: “Artificial Intelligence is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization and I don’t think people really appreciate that.” With video and images, Linda will lay out the emerging problems of applying A. I. to robots, especially those under development for military applications with weapons, and those problems include the potential for robots to lethally turn on their human makers.
As humanity is rapidly moving to depend on A. I. robot support, people in the UFO/E.T. abduction syndrome have been saying for decades that some of the beings they have dealt with were clearly Someone else’s programmed androids and robots.

- NEWS: SLEEP-FRIENDLY ICE CREAM, BEER BOT AND CALORIE COUNTING AI
By Chris Albrecht – January 5, 2019
Fro-doze, “Sleep-Friendly” ice cream on its way – A bowl of creamy, delicious ice cream and a good night’s sleep are like the peanut butter and chocolate of evening activities (they go reat together). Now a company called Nightfood is looking to take that pairing a step further with a new line of what it’s calling “sleep-friendly” ice cream. No, there won’t be any Nyquil mixed in with its frozen delights. Rather, all the ingredients have been curated so as not to interfere with sleep-so less sugar and sodium, etc. The ice cream comes out in February and I for one, can’t wait to eat many pints in the service of sleep science. FUTURE OF BANKDING: YES BANK DATATHON PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES OF FINANCE WITH AI AND MACHINE LEARNING
Inc42 BrandLabs – 03 Jan’19 Newage software solutions are driven by a blend of technology and a higher understanding of human behavior of Banks are now reaching out to startups which are heavily leveraging AI and machine learning to scalable solutions and innovative use cases of YES Bank organised a 100-day long accelerated YES Datathon to identify top AI and ML startups on December 23
Story Powered By Inc42 BrandLabs
Technology is now used in thousands of unseen ways to bridge the gap between human needs, products and services. From the smartphone which suggests eating spots you might like based on your location to paperless banking and even smart factories – anticipating human needs has always helped businesses to ramp up sales, reduce waste and give services tailor made for customers.
A large part of this is thanks to artificial intelligence (AI)-driven automation. By implementing robotics to optimise mundane processes such as data entries, cash deposit, passbook updating and salary uploads to name a few, the banking sector has increased its efficiency manyfold in the last decade. Nowadays automation is pushing the boundaries of technology, from selling financial products to customers, to loan processing, to creating a much more productive relationship between customers and machines.
Used along with Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, newage software solutions have created the idea of “Intelligent Enterprises.” The term refers to a management approach that applies technology to the challenge of improving business performance, and is driven by a blend of technology-based services and a higher understanding of human behavior. But how are intelligent enterprises different from traditional knowledge-based business solutions and what are its benefits for companies?

WOMEN MUST ACT NOW, OR MALE-DESIGNED ROBOTS WILL TAKE OVER OUR LIVES
Ivana Bartoletti – Algorithms are displaying white male bias, and automation is decimating our jobs – we have a lot to lose unless we get involved The overarching problem of men dictating the rules has found new expression in something that is currently changing the way we live and breathe: artificial intelligence (AI).
Let us be clear. There are great benefits in the use of AI and we should cherish them. However, the issue is not innovation, or the pace of technological improvement. The real problem is the governance of AI, the ethics underpinning it, the boundaries we give it and, within that, who is going to define all those. With that in mind, I think the next fight for us women is to ensure artificial intelligence does not become the ultimate expression of masculinity. Cont’d:

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
To save us from a Kafkaesque future, we must democratise AI
Stephen Cave Jan 4, 2019 – The history of artificial intelligence is entwined with state and corporate power. It must now reflect those it has excluded. Picture a system that makes decisions with huge impacts on a person’s prospects – even decisions of life and death. Imagine that system is complex and opaque: it sorts people into winners and losers, but the criteria by which it does so are never made clear. Those being assessed do not know what data the system has gathered about them, or with what data theirs is being compared. And no one is willing to take responsibility for the system’s decisions – everyone claims to be fulfilling their own cog-like function. Cont’d:

CITIZEN USERS, CITIZEN DEVELOPERS, DATA SCIENTISTS
As AI spreads, most of a company’s employees will need training to become AI citizen users. They’ll learn how to use the company’s AI-enhanced applications, support good data governance, and get expert help when needed.
A more specialized group, perhaps 5 to 10 percent of your workforce, should receive further training to become citizen developers: line-of-business professionals who are power users and can identify use cases and data sets, and work closely with AI specialists to develop new AI applications.
Finally, a small but crucial group of data engineers and data scientists will do the heavy lifting to create, deploy, and manage AI applications. Cont’d:
- 2019 AI PREDICTIONS
Six AI priorities you can’t afford to ignore Most executives know that artificial intelligence (AI) has the power to change almost everything about the way they do business – and could contribute up to $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030. But what many business leaders don’t know is how to deploy AI, not just in a pilot here or there, but throughout the organization, where it can create maximum value.
The “how” is the sticking point with any emerging technology, and AI is no exception. How do you define your AI strategy? How do you find AI-literate workers or train existing staff? What can you do to get your data AI-ready? How do you ensure your AI is trustworthy?
To complicate matters, the answers to these questions often vary from one company to the next – and the environment is continually evolving. But businesses can’t wait for the dust to settle. AI adoption, which has happened in fits and starts, will accelerate in 2019.

It was just a friendly little argument about the fate of humanity. Demis Hassabis, a leading creator of advanced artificial intelligence, was chatting with Elon Musk, a leading doomsayer, about the perils of artificial intelligence.
They are two of the most consequential and intriguing men in Silicon Valley who don’t live there. Hassabis, a co-founder of the mysterious London laboratory DeepMind, had come to Musk’s SpaceX rocket factory, outside Los Angeles, a few years ago. They were in the canteen, talking, as a massive rocket part traversed overhead. Musk explained that his ultimate goal at SpaceX was the most important project in the world: interplanetary colonization. Cont’d:

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE END OF GOVERNMENT
Jan 4, 2019 – Even as artificial intelligence (AI) is forecast to exceed human capabilities across a range of industries it is also predicted to augment human labor. In finance, AI is already helping financial advisors augment financial planning while enhancing investment strategy. And in medicine, AI diagnostics systems have proven to be far more accurate than doctors in diagnosing heart disease and cancerous growths. In fact, McKinsey lists some 400 use cases representing $6 trillion in value across 19 industries in which AI will augment human work. But what about government? What will the impact of AI be on the nature of government?
